In celebration of those who will play pivotal roles in shaping the future of healthcare in the province and the country, Netcare Education’s KwaZulu-Natal campus last week proudly acknowledged the achievements of 110 nursing graduates and 17 management programme graduates.

Mariann Theron, campus manager of Netcare Education KZN, said that the successful completion of their studies in the face of numerous challenges was a testament to the commitment to care and excellence which continues to define the many healthcare professionals who come through Netcare’s ranks.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Sara Nayager, regional general manager of Netcare’s hospital division, congratulated the graduates, including nurses focusing on speciality disciplines such as intensive care, oncology, infection control, the operating room, anaesthesia and others. Graduates also included central sterile services department (CSSD) technicians, who play an essential role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of healthcare facilities.

“I am always in awe of human tenacity. It is remarkable how some people will succeed and win, regardless of the odds. Today, I would like to pay a special tribute to all of you who have worked hard to achieve your goals, irrespective of your circumstances,” said Nayager.

“The healthcare landscape is ever-evolving, requiring us all to adapt and innovate continually. Those who have answered the calling of the nursing profession understand the power of resilience in learning, adapting, and thriving no matter what life brings. Your determination, combined with your acquired knowledge and skills, will be your compass as you navigate any challenges.

“Within each challenge lies an opportunity for growth and improvement. Together, we can work towards resolving these issues and continue to provide the best possible care to our patients. We must advocate for change, seek solutions, and, most importantly, never lose sight of the impact we make on people's lives,” she concluded.
