Netcare Medicross recognised in 2021 Ask Africa Orange Index®

Service excellence award dedicated to staff and colleagues

Friday, October 15 2021

Netcare Medicross has been recognised in the 2021 Ask Africa Orange Index® service excellence awards for its commitment to consistent quality of service delivery across its national network of medical and dental centres, day hospitals and sub-acute hospitals.

This is the first time that Netcare Medicross has been presented with the award in the private hospitals category, following a survey that interviewed 19 986 South Africans between May and July 2021. In this, the 20th year that the Ask Africa Orange Index® has been tracking customer experience data, consumers were surveyed across 31 industries and 200 individual brands.

“The results of the index indicate that we at Netcare Medicross continue to live up to our own expectations as well as those of the people we serve, by placing our patients at the centre of everything we do. It is most gratifying to receive this award, particularly in light of the trials and tribulations faced by the healthcare community at large in recent times,” says Dr Billyy van der Merwe, managing director of Netcare’s Primary Care Division, of which Medicross is a subsidiary.

“The last 18 months have no doubt been the most difficult in the recent history of healthcare. During this time nothing has been more important to us than providing the best and safest care possible to each and every one of our patients, alongside caring for the physical and mental wellbeing of our colleagues, most particularly those on the frontline.

“We wish to take this opportunity to thank all people who have placed their trust in us, and to those who participated in the research, for providing such valuable insights. We find all patient and family feedback to be helpful and truly appreciate the ongoing conversation with our patients, as this assists us to continuously improve what we do.

“We would like to dedicate this award to our staff, management and the healthcare professionals throughout each and every Netcare Medicross facility, in acknowledgement of their tireless commitment to safeguarding our patients, delivering the highest level of care with professionalism and compassion, and upholding the Netcare Medicross values,” concludes Dr Van der Merwe.
