Netcare Linmed Hospital
The Netcare Linmed Hospital opened its doors in 1993 with 100 beds. It currently operates as a 172 bed hospital with five theatres including medical, surgical, paediatric and maternity wards, an intensive care unit, neo natal intensive care and neo-natal high care as well as oncology facilities.
This is a state-of-the art facility that provides a 24-hour accident and emergency unit. Apart from providing the best professional emergency and trauma services, the facilities also include a 16 slice CT Scanner plus the benefit of having the following specialists on call: Orthopaedic Surgery, Gynaecology, Maxillo Facial, Neuro Surgery, Surgery, Physicians, Urologists and paediatricians complete the 360° emergency care offered.

Netcare Linmed Hospital was voted by the readers of the Benoni City Times as the best in Benoni under the category “Goods & Services”. Best of Benoni is a community project involving the Benoni City Times, The Aurora, Benoni and Van Ryn Rotary Clubs, Benoni Publicity association, the Benoni Chamber of Commerce and Benoni Biz.
Based on survey results of the Ekhurhuleni Municipal District conducted during August and September 2006, Netcare Linmed Hospital has won the Joint Arrow Award in the business sector : PRIVATE HOSPITALS/CLINICS in the EKHURHULENI.
The Netcare Linmed Hospital is currently undergoing a total facelift
which includes:

- Theatre change rooms and dining area
- Multi storey doctors suites
- New coffee shop
- Retail pharmacy
- New reception and pre-admission
- New Trauma and Casualty department
- Bigger Radiology department
In an independent survey on service and customer excellence conducted by PMR Africa for the year 2007 on behalf of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, three of Netcare's hospitals were voted into the top 4 positions. PMR Africa completed its annual survey on the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipal identifying companies or institutions that were doing most to contribute to the economic growth and development of the Municipal District.
Respondents were asked to nominate and rate:
- Companies/institutions in their respective business sectors, who over the past 12 months contributed most to stimulating economic growth and development, and who have also demonstrated exceptional managerial and corporate governance qualities during the same period
- Companies/institutions for their outstanding service and contribution to the Municipal District's economy, for enhancing BEE and for fighting HIV/Aids
- Companies/institutions they hold in high esteem as good corporate citizens, I.e. corporate social responsibility initiatives and investments.
In this survey Netcare Linmed Hospital took top honors and was awarded with the PMR Diamond Arrow Award. | |
