The Durban Pain Clinic Aimed at people who have chronic pain that has not been diagnosed, the clinic puts patients through a programme that is run by medical doctors, physiotherapists, a biokineticist, fitness expert, as well as a neurologist and anaesthetist. Patients are screened to determine the kind of pain they have, before being set on a path to wellness.
They're taken off all medication and detoxed before going on to appropriate medication, with the aim being to phase it out entirely, where possible. With stress, an increasingly common denominator in most of our lives, particular attention is paid to relaxing and strengthening the muscles in the body. This is done through a combination of physiotherapy and time spent working out on a vibrating machine to enhance circulation and strengthen the muscles. It works on muscle tissue, tendon tissue, bone tissue and the nervous system, and helps balance the hormones. The programme may also improve cognitive behaviour therapy with it depending greatly on the patient's needs.
