Netcare Park Lane Hospital is located in the heart of Parktown, in close proximity to Johannesburg General Hospital and Wits Medical School.
The hospital is known as a specialist facility with a holistic approach to women’s’ health. It also enjoys the reputation of being the premier mother and child hospital in Gauteng .
Among the facility’s specialised services are: The Stork's Nest which focuses on the community, offering advice on ante-natal and post-natal education (nanny classes, first aid and the like) while also encouraging a holistic approach to the birth of babies. We offer immunization, a well-baby clinic, as well as support and counselling to new parents.
The Netcare Park Lane Fertility Centre offers a unique service to infertile couples. These services include complete assessment of the infertile couple; ovulation induction; artificial insemination; donor insemination and infertility surgery; assisted reproductive technology, male infertility treatment and sperm testing and freezing.
The Netcare Park Lane Cleft Lip and Palate Programme has changed the lives of many underprivileged children and adults. This programme has the goal of broadening access to treatment for cleft lip and palate patients in South Africa and the rest of Africa.
The hospital also has a fully equipped Active Birth Unit which is managed by private midwives and offers couples various alternatives for natural birth as well as overnight facilities for mom and her partner.

- Netcare Parklane Hospital has been awarded “Baby friendly” status by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
- Rapid advances in endometrial surgery have been made at the hospital and Dr. Johan Izak van der Wat has received the prestigious Carlo Romani M.D. award for the best endometriosis paper and his research on Modified Virtual Colonoscopy…” A new Non invasive Technique for the diagnosis of Recto-vaginal Septum and deep infiltrating Pelvic Endometriosis”. This was presented to him at the annual conference on 06 November 2006
- The hospital also has a successful cleft lip and palate programme that is made possible through a joint effort between Netcare and Vodacom. We offer this service at no cost to disadvantaged children and adults with cleft lips or cleft palettes.
