Audiology Institute Dedicated ear, nose and throat surgeons are supported by qualified audiologists who assess and treat all hearing disorders.
Coffee and gift shop Located on ground Level, opposite the main reception, you will find the coffee shop serving a delightful range of light meals and snacks as well as sweets, magazines and newspapers. Counseling Service Our counseling consultants are trained professionals who has specialised skills and knowledge to help patients and their families cope with the emotional effect of illness, hospitalisation and grief. This guarantees that each patient is treated from both a medical and psychological perspective. The counseling consultants can be contacted through reception or the ward secretary.
Dietician We boast a qualified dietician to cater for special diets as prescribed by our doctors. The dietician can be contacted though reception or the ward secretary.
Gastroenterology The hospital is proud to offer the services of leading gastroenterologists, supported by a large pool of general surgeons, specialising in colonoscopies, gastroscopies, ERCPs and related services.
Intensive Care Unit The 30-bed intensive care unit includes eight intensive care beds that provide isolation capabilities for the management and prevention of infection. A fully computerised, state-of-the-art patient information monitoring system has been installed for the benefit of patients, staff and specialists. Netcare 911 The Accident and Emergency Unit is ably supported by an onsite 24-hour Netcare 911 base consisting of Advance Life Support paramedics, ambulances and scene protection vehicle. In case of medical emergencies please contact Netcare 911 on 082 911.
Cleft lip and Palette Netcare Union Hospital offers procedures to children born with cleft lip and palette conditions. For further information and Inquiries you may contact the unit through reception.
Bariatric Surgery (Obesity) Obesity is a disease and although it can be lifestyle related, evidence exists that genetics plays a role too. Netcare Union Hospital is an Internationally Accredited Bariatric Centre of Excellence. Patients can now undergo surgery and loose weight. Physiotherapy Our established physiotherapy departments provide support services to all medical disciplines, treating medical and surgical patients and implementing appropriate rehabilitative programmes, where necessary.
Pre-admission Once your doctor has confirmed your admission to a Netcare facility, please proceed to the Pre-Admission Desk at the hospital to complete an admission form. Pharmacy and Retail Pharmacy The pharmacy is conveniently located in the main foyer of the hospital and is open 7 days a week. The Retail Pharmacy is convenient for any purchases of gifts or toiletries and the business hours are:
Monday - Saturday 08h0 – 21h00. Sundays & Public Holidays: 10h00 - 21h00.

Radio & television Each room is equipped with a television. Remote controls for the television are available. Earphones can be purchased form Reception.
Telephones Public telephones are available throughout the hospital, and telephone cards can usually be bought from the retail pharmacy and coffee shop. Cellular telephones may be brought into the hospital at your own risk, but there are certain areas where use is restricted.
Visitors Although most Netcare hospitals are flexible in allowing visitors for most of the day, the well-being of our patients is our primary concern. In order to facilitate doctors’ rounds and any therapy or additional tests that need to be performed, visitors are requested to visit during visiting times only. No visitors will be permitted into the wards before 10:00 each day. In addition, the hospital has a patient resting time during which no visitors or phone calls to patients will be allowed.
Visiting hours and resting times in the wards may differ from hospital to hospital, and indeed different units may have different resting times. Please consult the notice boards and the respective unit managers in this regard.
