Netcare Umhlanga Hospital services the rapidly growing population north of the Umngeni River and provides a much needed service for the greater North Coast community. Conveniently located on Umhlanga Ridge with easy access from the N2 and M4, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of services and facilities. The hospital is proud of its sophisticated state-of-the-art medical equipment, 8 theatres and 204 beds. Services offered include medical and surgical facilities, a maternity unit, an adult intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care, paediatrics, and a 20 bedded day ward. The facility hosts a 24-hour trauma unit supported by Netcare 911. The adjacent heli-pad provides easy access for all medical emergencies.
The Netcare Umhlanga Hospital Medical Centre is situated adjacent to the hospital. The ground floor of the Centre boasts an extensive Retail Pharmacy, Storks Nest’ Mother and Baby Clinic and a General Medical and Dental Practice as well as Sessional Rooms for various Specialist Doctors. The Centre of Excellence Radiography Practice of Dr Wedderburn-Maxwell and Partners Incorporated is situated on the first floor along with National Renal Care and the Eye Laser Clinic. Both Pathology laboratories, Bouwer and Partners and Lancet Laboratories are situated on the 6th Floor together with a wound care clinic, Centre for Sports Medicine and Umhlanga Rehabilitation Practice. The Consulting rooms of numerous Specialist Doctors are located on floors 2 – 5.

Visitors
In order to facilitate doctors’ rounds and any therapy or additional tests that need to be performed, visitors are requested to visit during visiting times only. No visitors will be permitted into the wards before 10:00 each day. In addition, the hospital has a patient resting time during which no visitors or phone calls to patients will be allowed.

Children under 12 years are not allowed to visit patients to safeguard them and the patients against any health risk.
