The Allergy Clinic at Netcare Clinton Hospital provides a comprehensive service of care to children with underlying allergies, and is the second of its kind in South Africa. This all encompassing allergy service provides a thorough assessment of children and adults with allergy conditions including Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis, Allergic Conjunctivitis, Severe eczema, Hay fever, Urticaria (hives or nettle rash), Angioedema (swelling), Food allergy and Anaphylaxis, BEEvenom and wasp anaphylaxis as well as Drug allergies. Our specialist team also performs skin prick testing, IgE testing, RAST and CAST testing, spirometry and FeNO (exhaled nitrous oxide), in the outpatient setting. Education about the condition and the management thereof is also provided to the patient. Inpatient management consists mainly of immunotherapy and food challenges to prove or disprove food allergy. The Allergy Clinic has close links with General Practitioners and community Paediatricians to facilitate continuity of care.

Our General Surgeons are complimented by teams of experienced support staff who perform the most intricate surgical procedures. These are often undertaken in line with the global trend towards minimally-invasive surgery.
Netcare Clinton Hospital’s Maternity Unit offers a warm, friendly and caring environment for both mother and baby. The Unit has highly trained midwives, nursing staff and leading Obstetricians resident in the hospital. The 28 Bed Maternity Unit is fitted with three fully equipped delivery rooms. Intrinsic to the benefits offered by Netcare Clinton Hospital is the Netbaby Passport, entitling parents to, among other, a free 4D scan of the baby in Utero. The Unit is supported by a fully equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, manned by highly specialised staff to care for critically ill neonates and newborns.
Stork’s Nest (Mother and Baby Wellness Clinic)
Netcare has established 23 Stork’s Nest clinics at a variety of its hospitals with maternity facilities. These Stork’s Nests provide care for prospective parents before the birth of their baby as well as baby immunisation after birth.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Netcare Clinton Hospital’s technologically advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is equipped to deal with any neonatal complication that may arise. This unit is supported by highly trained nursing staff and excellent Paediatricians.
Netcare Clinton Hospital has an established, fully inclusive, Oncology Centre embracing a Radiotherapy facility and a Medical Oncology Unit with a Chemotherapy department. Netcare Clinton Hospital provides Orthopaedic surgery in a dedicated Laminar Flow Theatre.
We realise that for a child to come into a hospital environment may be stressful and unsettling. Our staff is trained to help in any way possible, and will help to explain the procedure to the child. General Hospital Information
The Retail Pharmacy, which is located on the second floor of Netcare Clinton Hospital is open 7 Days a week. The pharmacy can provide patients with all their in-hospital and discharge pharmaceutical needs and professional advice may be sought from our pharmacy staff. Toiletries and gifts are also available. The Pharmacy dispenses all medication for Hospital Patients and Retail Customers. Please feel free to make use of our pharmacy for your on-going pharmaceutical requirements.

Radiology Department (Diagnostic Radiological Services Inc.)
Diagnostic Radiological Services Inc. is conveniently located just outside the main entrance of Netcare Clinton Hospital. The department is open from 07:30 to 17:30 and provides all aspects of radiology including general investigations, theatre and bedside unit procedure.

Radio & television
Each room is equipped with a television. Remote controls for the television are available. Earphones can be purchased form Reception.
Public telephones are available throughout the hospital, and telephone cards can usually be bought from the retail pharmacy and coffee shop. Cellular telephones may be brought into the hospital at your own risk, but there are certain areas where use is restricted.
Although most Netcare hospitals are flexible in allowing visitors for most of the day, the well-being of our patients is our primary concern. In order to facilitate doctors’ rounds and any therapy or additional tests that need to be performed, visitors are requested to visit during visiting times only. No visitors will be permitted into the wards before 10:00 each day. In addition, the hospital has a patient resting time during which no visitors or phone calls to patients will be allowed.
Visiting hours and resting times in the wards may differ from hospital to hospital, and indeed different units may have different resting times.
