Intensive Care Unit
The 11-bed Medical, 7 bed Surgical and 2 bed Peadiatric intensive care units includes seven intensive care beds that provide isolation capabilities for the management and prevention of infection. A fully computerised, state-of-the-art patient information system has been installed for the benefit of specialists, staff and patients. Once your doctor has confirmed your admission to a Netcare facility, please proceed to the Pre-Admission Clinic of the hospital to complete an admission form. An admission form can be obtained from the Pre-Admission Clinic and the completed form can be faxed to 011 362 6863.
24-Hour Accident & Emergency Department
Our 24-hour Accident and Emergency department is equipped to handle the full spectrum of emergency medical needs promptly and efficiently. Our counseling consultants are professionals who have specialised skills and knowledge to help patients and their families cope with the emotional effect of illness, hospitalisation and grief. This guarantees that each patient is treated from both a medical and psychological perspective. The counseling consultants can be contacted through reception or the ward secretary.
The maternity unit consists of private and semi-private rooms. You are welcome to view the facilities at any time. We do however, suggest that you phone in advance to ensure that there are rooms available to view. 011 365 1496.
Netbaby Maternity Passport
Parents will receive the Netbaby Maternity Passport once the bed booking has been paid.
On weekdays a photograph will be taken of your baby, with your consent. Family and friends will be able to view your baby?s pictures on the Netcute website, www.netcare.co.za

Stork's Nest Baby Clinic - First Well-baby Clinic Visit
Stork's Nest offers advice on antenatal and post-natal education which includes antenatal classes, nanny classes, CPR courses, a breastfeeding support group and much more. Although most Netcare hospitals are flexible in allowing visitors for most of the day, the well-being of our patients is our primary concern. In order to facilitate doctors rounds and any therapy or additional tests that need to be performed, visitors are requested to visit during visiting times only. No visitors will be permitted into the wards before 10:00 each day. In addition, the hospital has a patient resting time during which no visitors or phone calls to patients will be allowed.

Intensive care unit
Only close family members may visit and only 2 visitors at a time. No children under 12 years are allowed in the Unit.
Patients may not receive flowers in the ICU. Depending on the operation and condition of the patient, they may receive sweets and snacks.
Children under 12 years are not allowed to visit patients to safeguard them and the patients against any health risk.
Pharmacy and Retail Pharmacy
The pharmacy, which is conveniently located in the main foyer of the
hospital, is open 7 days a week from 08:00 - 18:00 on weekdays and 09:00 - 12:00
The Retail Pharmacy is convenient for any purchases of gifts or toiletries and
the business hours are 08:00 - 19:00 on weekdays and 09:00 - 12:00 on weekends.
