Our crisis line is available 24/7, providing immediate care and advice over the phone for mental health emergencies, crises, or even if you need some advice or information.

What is the Netcare Akeso crisis line?

The Netcare Akeso crisis line is a telephone service operating 24/7 where trained crisis line counsellors can guide you or your loved ones through an immediate mental health emergency or crisis and facilitate getting you to a point of care. While we are not a phone counselling platform (we don't offer long term counselling options over the phone), we are here to listen, and we can guide or refer you or your loved one wherever possible.

What does the crisis line offer?

Our crisis line counsellors can provide you or your loved ones with information about mental health and mental health care services.

We can also assist you with navigating our various Netcare Akeso mental health facilities and the services we offer in each. If you need to make an appointment, arrange an admission, or need other information, we can connect you with the facility of your choice.

If a mental health emergency requires paramedic intervention, our crisis line is powered by Netcare 911 to assist with dispatching an ambulance and getting you or the patient to an appropriate facility. We liaise with alternate service providers if Netcare 911 is not available to assist promptly.

Our crisis line counsellors are experienced and registered mental health professionals. Comprising of social workers and registered counsellors, they are passionate about, and experienced in, mental healthcare and are committed to helping you however they can.
