What to bring for your stay

Knowing what to bring for your hospital stay will make you feel more comfortable and having test results and information on medication you take routinely will help us to provide you with the best and safest care.

A guide on what to bring:

  • Any medication you are currently taking, including chronic medication, over the counter medication and dietary or nutritional supplements. Alternatively, bring a list of all the medication, with dosages for each. The medication or list should be handed to the unit manager of the ward where you will be staying.

  • Toiletries and cosmetics if you will be staying overnight or longer

  • Sleepwear, slippers or shoes if you will be hospitalised for a few days or more

  • Comfortable clothing for your discharge

  • Reading material

  • A favourite toy or blanket for infants or younger children

  • Nappies and any special toiletries for babies and toddlers, if required
