“In this house, we do cancer, we do tears, and we do pain, we worry, and we stress. We also hope, we persevere, and we pray. Because in this house, we don’t go down without a fight!”

Netcare Alberton Hospital’s paediatric cancer care team

The Netcare Alberton paediatric cancer care unit functions as an outpatient facility. The dedicated unit has been beautifully decorated and has comfortable chairs where children receive chemotherapy in an age appropriate environment.

Our paediatric cancer care unit is accredited by the South African Oncology Consortium and fulfils all the required criteria to ensure the safe preparation and administration of chemotherapy by a dedicated pharmacist and paediatric oncology nurses.

If your child requires admission to hospital, they will stay in a separate section in our paediatric ward, where you as a parent can always stay with your child.

Keep in mind that more children than ever before survive childhood cancer, and most parents have good reason to be hopeful that their child will recover and beat the cancer.
