Much coveted maternity prize awaits lucky mom-to-be

All-expenses-paid delivery at state-of-the-art maternity facility on offer

Friday, May 2 2014

A prize of a lifetime is up for grabs for one lucky mom-to-be at ‘MamaMagic, The Baby Expo’, taking place at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg from 15 to 18 May 2014.

As part of the Baby on Board competition, Netcare Mulbarton Hospital is sponsoring a free delivery with all the bells and whistles. This includes the hospital stay; services of a gynaecologist, anaesthetist, paediatrician and midwife; as well as a range of ante and post-natal care services.

Netcare Mulbarton Hospital is situated in the Southern suburbs of Johannesburg and officially opened its doors in 1991. The hospital offers state-of-the-art maternity amenities, which have been purposely designed to provide a streamlined service in a tranquil environment. The hospital’s maternity facilities comprise of a 20-bed maternity ward, eight-bed neonatal ward, three delivery rooms including two birthing baths for parents who wish to have a water birth as well as a dedicated caesarean section theatre.

The winner of the free-delivery prize will experience the outstanding services on offer at Netcare Mulbarton Hospital while being accommodated in one of the facility’s beautifully appointed private rooms. Here she will have the option of having her birth partner stay with her while she is in hospital.

Nellie Koen, general manager of Netcare Mulbarton Hospital, indicates that the expertise and comfort offered by the facility are not the only benefits of having one’s baby there. “The staff and midwives of our hospital are truly passionate about bringing new life into the world and assisting parents to develop families. We therefore place a heavy emphasis on providing quality and personalised care in order to safeguard the well-being of our mothers and babies.”

As an expectant mother at Netcare Mulbarton Hospital, the lucky competition winner will also be provided with the additional maternity services on offer, such as the Netcare Stork’s Nest Maternity Passport, which includes:

  •     A free 3D live scan between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy
  •     A baby gift bag full of goodies to assist the mom-to-be on this new journey
  •     Placement of baby’s photograph on the Netcute website
  •     The birth registration process
  •     Baby’s first immunisation in the ward
  •     The first ‘Well Baby’ clinic check-up

Koen points out that all women delivering their baby at a Netcare maternity facility automatically qualify for the Stork’s Nest Maternity Passport at a minimal fee.

According to Koen, this is the second time that Netcare Mulbarton Hospital is offering this prize. Last year’s prize was won by Rohan and Leanne van der Walt, who generously transferred it to Rohan’s brother, Marnus van der Walt and his wife, who were expecting their second baby but did not belong to a medical scheme.

“We warmly encourage all expectant parents to visit Netcare Mulbarton Hospital’s stand at ‘MamaMagic, The Baby Expo’ where they can enter this incredible competition. We will also be running a number of lucky draws with some great prizes up for grabs while our qualified staff will be on hand to answer any questions about pregnancy and birth,” concludes Koen.

Tickets for ‘MamaMagic, The Baby Expo’ are available through Computicket or at the venue.
