Netcare Margate Hospital once again wins prestigious PMR.africa Diamond Arrow Award

South Coast facility receives highest rating in its category

Monday, June 28 2021

Having concluded its annual survey across KwaZulu-Natal’s South Coast industries, consulting and research company PMR.africa has once again awarded Netcare Margate Hospital a Diamond Arrow Award for 2020.

The award is the highest possible rating in the private hospital/clinics category and was presented at the recent KwaZulu-Natal South Coast Business Excellence Awards breakfast hosted by PMR.africa.

The awards are the culmination of an independent research process whereby companies and institutions are rated against criteria relating to the economic growth and development of KwaZulu-Natal’s South Coast. This takes into account levels of managerial expertise, implementation of corporate governance, brand awareness and levels of innovation.

Netcare Margate Hospital was recently awarded a Diamond Arrow Award, the highest possible rating, in the private hospital/clinics category of the 2020 PMR.africa KwaZulu-Natal South Coast’s Business Excellence Awards. The awards were announced at an awards breakfast. Darryn Horsley, financial manager (left) and Sarah Mckaw, nursing manager (right) were there to receive the award on behalf of the hospital.

Commenting on the award, Rob Ferreira, general manager of Netcare Margate Hospital says this is the second Diamond Award awarded to Netcare Margate Hospital in the space of two years and is testament to the dedication of the doctors, staff members and management to uphold and deliver on Netcare’s values of care, dignity, participation, truth and compassion.

“We are pleased that the efforts of the hospital team have been recognised in this way. The people of the South Coast are without doubt best placed to provide such important feedback and the results of the survey indicate the achievement of our service objectives,” he says.

Ferreira adds that the award carries a great deal of meaning as the healthcare sector has been faced with unprecedented challenges over the past year, and acknowledgement of the hospital’s organisational excellence is encouraging.

“It is our privilege to serve the South Coast community, and we thank them for their continued support. This award is a great honour and we would like to assure the community of our unwavering commitment to continue providing each person who places their trust in us with the best and safest care,” he concludes.
